Burnbrae Road - Scotland’s Landmark Passivhaus Development, Bonnyrigg

Sustainable Fire Protection for Low-Carbon Housing

The Burnbrae Road development is a groundbreaking project in Bonnyrigg, marking one of Scotland’s largest certified Passivhaus developments and the first for Midlothian Council. Developed by Fleming Buildings, this innovative project features 16 flats, 4 houses, and a ground-floor retail unit, designed to deliver high-performance, low-carbon living while ensuring exceptional thermal comfort. To complement the project’s sustainability goals, NPHS installed an advanced mist fire suppression system with a single efficient pump unit and 6 precision-engineered nozzles. This system provides reliable fire safety without compromising the energy efficiency of the Passivhaus design. By integrating seamlessly into this forward-thinking development, NPHS reinforces its commitment to modern, sustainable fire protection solutions that align with the latest construction innovations and environmental targets.
